I was saved at the age of twelve at a weeknight Revival meeting. I trusted Christ as my Savior and followed the Lord in Believers Baptism. On June 14, 1997 I married my childhood friend and love of my life, Ronica.
In 2004, my wife and I surrendered our lives completely to Christ and to His ministry. We purposed to go wherever He would lead. As a third generation builder by trade and owner of a construction company, I understood there were many details that would have to be sorted through in order for our family to go full-time in the ministry. We had faith God had called us and He alone would work everything out.
Within just a few months, God had directed our path and we were commissioned by our home church, Grace Baptist Temple, as Church Construction Missionaries. We closed the company, God sold our home and my wife and I and five, young sons were on the road living in a fifth-wheel. God had led us to the ministry with the BBF Builders. We helped churches with their building projects from start to finish and cut out the labor costs.
The very first project, of many, was at Heartland Baptist Church in Ames, Iowa (Pastor Randy Abell). The next church project was in Russellville, Arkansas (Pastor Ron Kauffman). While at the various churches, my family and I were not only involved in the construction portion of the church, but we became involved in the ministry as well. Evangelizing and going out on visitation and soul-winning, filling in for Sunday School teachers, helping out with VBS, being involved in the music ministry, etc. We felt called to be a blessing to each Pastor and his staff and to make ourselves available to whatever need we could meet. In turn, God blessed us with many opportunities to minister!!
In 2010, I felt God calling me to preach. God immediately began opening new doors and we had the privilege of joining the staff at Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp as Facilities Director. My wife and I worked in various parts of the camp ministry including; teaching counselors, promoting the camp to churches and preaching, music ministry, and Evangelism. God used this ministry in a mighty way to teach us many things and we are grateful to have been used in such a fruitful ministry where many accepted Christ. We feel Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp was a stepping stone and transition period to prepare us for the ministry of Evangelism.
